Sex Ed

Athie from family planning Victoria came to the Xplore centre on the 16th of May during period 1 & 2. She discussed a lot about sex and sexual relationships. She also made a lot of jokes.

She told us a lot about preventing STI diseases and preventing pregnancy. She told us that condoms had a 97% chance of preventing STI disease and contraceptive pill had a 96% of preventing pregnancy. She then told use that there were three was forms of the contraceptive medication. One was the pills, second was the arm injection and third was the vaginal ring. She told also told us that the arm injection had a 99% chance of preventing pregnancy and the vaginal ring had a 96% chance of preventing pregnancy.

She explained about if you’re ready for sex and stuff like that. I found it very disturbing at sometimes and very funny at other times. At the end of the program Athie taught us hoe to use a condom. I found it very disturbing and funny at the same time.

Although sex ed has nothing to do with cool water assignment, I learnt more about sex ed in yr 9 than yr 5, 6, 7 and 8 combined.
